SUMMER 2025

My writing workshops and groups are on pause until the fall—see descriptions further below if interested. Please reach out right away as all groups will fill to capacity. In the meantime, here are some resources to keep you inspired . . .

SUBCRIBE:
The
'lovely & delightful' newsletter from the dear friend and colleague who encouraged me to take my recent, extraordinary trip to Italy. Here, author Laura Holmes Haddad shares the latest books, recipes, travel, shows and more. From her first newsletter--"I am someone trying to squeeze every last drop out of life . . . I want to know how and where to spend my time and money in a thoughtful, more curated way . . . Reading this newsletter should be like receiving a small, stunning vase of flowers every week."

LISTEN:
I have followed the wondrous Suleika Jaouad's work for years and am just diving into her new release,
The Book of Alchemy. Until you can get your hands on it, have a listen to her recent podcast about alchemizing anger and anxiety.

ATTEND:
Mark your calendar (8/1-3) for the
MV Book Festival. I'm always impressed by the quality of their panels and chance to be immersed in our amazing reading/writing community.

READ:
My last great read was Geraldine Brooks'
Memorial Days. It's brave, poetic, enlightening and so much more.

SIGN UP:
These are not free but you should definitely check them out--the June
Martha’s Vineyard Summer Writers’ Conference and spring Devotion to Writing Workshops. You will not be disappointed.

WRITE:
Sometimes, a generative session is just what we need. Sign up for this
one, sponsored by Grub Street, via Zoom on June 6.

INQUIRE:
**If you think you'd like a spot in one of my fall writing groups or courses, feel free to inquire now as they will sell out. Zoom and in person options.**

Until we meet again, let's both do something creative every day.

  • WRITING WORKSHOP:
I teach both generative workshops and ones offering craft instruction on a broad range of topics, from radical revision to creating engaging scenes to developing rich settings. Look for me at local libraries and Grub Street.

  • PRIVATE WRITING GROUPS:
I have limited space for serious writers looking to give/glean feedback on works in progress. Please contact me for zoom or in-person options.

    General Overview--

Each writer has approximately 20 minutes to have their work read and receive feedback. Usually, there are about four writers in a group. Sessions typically begin with a tiny craft lesson, inspiration or prompt.

Writers prepay for a multi-week session. If writers miss a zoom, we can read their work and send a recording with feedback.
Writers are working on a variety of genres.

Stay tuned . . . more coming soon (always)!
